Nice day for a White Wedding

Commissioned monochrome wedding card.  This was for a colleague in work, who asked for black and white.  I struggled at first finding the right balance between the two shades as I didn't want to overload it with black.  I felt the dominant shade should be white, with black as the accent, as I didn't think it would look right if there was too much black on a wedding card.  I hope I managed to achieve the right balance!  I think I'm in love with the silky crush ribbons, I can't stop using them on cards these days!  I made a triple bow using the bow maker on my Crafter's Companion Ultimate Pro.

Oval Box

This was my first attempt at an oval box.  It's a bit tricky but I'm quite pleased with the result!  I used purple pearlescent card.  I needed 41cm of card to curve around the box, but I only had A4 size, so I glued the card together and used pearl embellishments to disguise the join on either side of the box.  I hid the end of the lace ribbon with little flowers :)

I used paper flowers from Create and Craft, pearl embellishments from Hobby House, cream roses from Kanban, ivory Centura Pearl card, Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals die, purple pearlescent card from Ebay (don't know the brand) and ivory lace ribbon.

Heart shaped box

Pink and white box with interlocking heart shaped lid, with pearl embellishments and white lace ribbon.  I used Crafter's Companion Ulti-Boxes Embossing Board to construct the box.  The pearl embellishments are from Hobby house.

Going To The Chapel

Wedding card commissioned by a work colleague, which she was sending to a relative in Ireland.  It was a last minute order, and she wanted me to put bells, a little church and a signpost saying St Mary's Church, Derrybeg.  I was panicking as I didn't have any churches in my crafty stash, but my local craft shop had a suitable die, so I was able to fulfil her request - phew!  Craftworld, Hillington to the rescue!  She was over the moon with the card, it's so nice to know that it's appreciated :)

Box it up

Gift box made with lemon pearlescent card.  I used the Ultimate Pro boxmaker to construct my box.  I love the boxmaker, it's such a handy tool.  No more having to cut slivers off your base, the tool does all the hard work for you!  I embellished the box using a white organza flower that I bought off QVC years ago (I can't remember the brand unfortunately) and white/silver organza ribbon from Create and Craft.

When life gives you lemons...

I made this bracelet for a colleague's 50th birthday.  925 sterling silver with lemon quartz rondelles and white freshwater cultured pearls.  I used monofilament with the lemon quartz, as the drillholes are quite small, and I used calottes/clamshells at the ends with a dab of jewellery glue on the knot to secure it.  She was very surprised and absolutely delighted with it!

Life's A Beach

50th birthday card I made for my colleague.  She is going on holiday to Spain to celebrate her half century, so I decided to go with a beach themed card.  I embellished the card with a cream organza ribbon, which I though tied in with the sand colour on the card.  What card would be complete without a ribbon or bow??  I used Hunkydory card, toppers and gold mirror card.  Thankfully, she loved her card and the present I made her (photo to follow).

Bundle Of Joy

A4 card for a colleague who is going on maternity leave.  The gender of the baby is a surprise and I was asked to make the card in ivory/cream and gold.  I just got the baby text and safety pin die from Marianne Creatables and I absolutely love it, I think I'll be using that one a lot! I embellished the card with a cream organza bow and cream pearls - I do like ribbons and gems!

Items used to make this card:-

Kanban 'Birth and Celebrations' topper
Spellbinders 'Timeless Rectangles' die
Marianne Creatables 'Baby Pram Stroller' die
Marianne Creatables 'Baby Text and Safety Pin' die
Die'sire Embossalicious 'Button Box' embossing folder
Ivory Centura Pearl Card
Hunkydory gold mirror card

And now for something completely different...

Not my usual style, but I was commissioned to make a 60th birthday card using vibrant colours and tartan ribbon - a bit of a challenge as all of my vibrant toppers and card clashed with tartan ribbon!  I found a pink and green tartan ribbon in a local craft shop, so I used that to build my colour scheme.  I decided that since I couldn't find a suitable topper to match the ribbon I would use a stamp instead.  I used a Creative Expressions embossing folder on the pink background card then matted and layered with green pearlescent and pink mirri card.  I used a Kanban stamp and blended the background with a pink versamark ink pad - this was my first attempt at blending.  I embellished the card with pink and green gems, and made a triple bow with the ribbon.  It's not what I would normally make, but hopefully I have fulfilled the brief!

Tallulah Crafts: Christening: A5 Christening card, using Kanban ' Birth and Celebrations'.  I used an ivory lace ribbon, ivory paper roses and ivory pearls....

Engagement

A5 card using Kanban 'Love and Marriage' paper and topper.  I used a spellbinder die to cut the heart, and I stamped and embossed the sentiment using an Indigo Blu 'Wedding Words' stamp.  I used Tim Holtz 'Tattered Rose' inkpad to ink the heart whilst it was still in the die.  I embellished the card with a white lace ribbon, white pearl heart ribbon slider and white pearls.

Wistful

A5 Birthday Card, using Kanban 'It's a Dog's Life' collection.  I matted and layered red gingham background paper onto gold mirror card.  Then I used one of the borders from the collection, which I also matted onto gold mirror card, and I put this behind the topper.  The topper features a beautiful black Labrador dog, which I think looks quite wistful, hence the name of this card!  I decided to keep the card quite simple, so I completed the card with 'Happy Birthday' and 'With Love' sentiments.

Daisy Dreams

A5 birthday card for a friend, using Kanban Language Of Flowers.  I used a pyramage topper featuring a bouquet of daisies.  I also used a lovely sentiment saying "The beauty of true friendship never fades away, it blossoms in the heart forever".  I used Kanban background card with foiled dots from the Language of Flowers collection.  The card was embellished with Kanban gold pearls.

Spring has sprung

A5 card that I made for my Mum, using Kanban's Spring Gardens and Kanban scalloped card blank.  I matted and layered the foiled background onto Hunkydory rainbow shimmer card.  I made a decorative border using contrasting patterned cardstock and a border from the Spring Gardens kit, matted onto Hunkydory rainbow shimmer card.  I used a pretty topper from the kit, matted onto a scalloped circle.  The card was embellished with a butterfly, a sentiment topper and lilac pearl.  I completed the card with the word 'Mum', which was die cut using Sizzix Tim Holz 'Carnivale' alphabet die.

Jasmine

70th Birthday card, using Kanban 'Language Of Flowers' kit.  I used a rectangular jasmine topper, matted onto silver mirror card, then overlaid it with a co-ordinating circular jasmine topper.  I used a Spellbinder die to cut the silver card behind the circle topper.  Behind the rectangular topper, I have used a Spellbinder 'Lily Of The Valley' die in white card.  I matted and layered green patterned card from the Language Of Flowers kit onto silver card.  I embellished the card with white lace and white pearls.  The card was completed with a complementary insert.

Deco Diva

I love Art Deco and Art Nouveau, and I just couldn't resist this kit when it was on Create and Craft a couple of years ago.  The ladies are so elegant and quite like the Erte images from the 20's.  I used a twisted pyramage image in olive green.  I matted and layered the green background on silver mirror card.  I created a border using silver mirror card and a strip of the green background paper, then I embellished it with some white and silver striped organza ribbon.  The card was embellished with pearls and completed with sentiments and the number 40.

Fairy kisses

This A5 card was made using decoupage metallic flower fairies from Create and Craft.  I mounted the fairy on yellow embossed and glittered background card.  I then matted and layered using yellow glitter card and Hunkydory rainbow shimmer card.  I embellished the card using a metallic adhesive ribbon border, a paper flower and white pearls.  The card was finished off with a sentiment and an insert.  I think this would be fab for a young girl or indeed the 'young at heart'!

A4 size black and white wedding card, using Papermania background paper, sizzix heart die and Inkadinkado stamps.  I stamped with Versamark onto black card and used white embossing powder.  I finished the card off with white and black faux-pearl stones, and white organza ribbon.
